Turning Point 2: In order to accomplish his mission, he learns to surf and meets Bohdi and Tyler.

Turning Point 3: The relationship between Bohdi and Johnny becomes much stronger.

Turning Point 4: Tyler is now held hostage by Bohdi and his friends.

Turning Point 5: Johnny meets Bohdi once again, but doesn’t take him, but lets him go surf the storm he’s been waiting all his life for.

Conventions of the Genre: I’ve watched a lot of action films and this one had all the qualities you want when watching these sort of films. It had fights, guns, the girl and the sort of happy ending.

Did it contradict the conventions: I think this movie stuck with the conventions and didn’t go over board with them. They had the necassary action, a bit of love, a friendship with the criminal and I think it played out really well.

Review: This film really caught my attention, they had really good actors -Keaanu Reeves, Patrick Swayze and Anthony Kiedis- that I think really did their roles well. I enjoyed seeing Anthony Kiedis acting, because usually someone always sees him singing on stage, but this time he got to do something different, which was nice to see. I don’t really like surfing, so at first I was like; this movie won’t be interesting at all. But I regretted thinking that because despite the criminals stealing money from banks, they had morals and dreams and they weren’t that bad really. It was sad to see them all die, because they weren’t really trying to hurt anybody and they were just trying to find the next big adrenaline adventure. I think I would recommend this film, but then again someone might watch it and then tell me it’s exactly like ‘Fast and Furious’ but people need to keep in mind that Point Break was made in the 90′s and so they should give it a chance because it really is a good film and has a strong moral within it

Turning Point 2: A girl named Camille enters his life.

Turning Point 3: They loose a football game.

Turning Point 4: He goes to Rehab for drinking and driving.

Turning Point 5: They win the football game.

Conventions: I have watched some football films and they’ve always had the same little problems within it. Just like this one had. I think that they made it relatable as well because a lot of people take steroids in sports or have drinking problems or have suffered an injury so bad that your no longer able to play a sport.

Did it contradict the conventions: I assumed a lot for this film, but what I didn’t expect was that not everyone was going to have a happy ending. It did have some of the predictable things, but the ending wasn’t as predictable. It was more realistic which is good.

Review: This film was good but it wasn’t great. If I was at Wal-Mart and I saw this film on a rack, I’d maybe stop and look at it and but then continue walking because the film to me isn’t worth it to buy and I don’t think I’d watch this a few times over. It wasn’t a movie that made me say wow that’s inspirational or that’s really something. If I had to recommend a football movie, I don’t even think I would recommend this one, I would probably say go watch ‘The Longest Yard’ featuring Adam Sandler because that’s maybe the only football movie that I enjoyed and I think was worth watching. Despite the movie having it’s down sides, it did have it’s ups. Usually these sort of films are very cliché but the ending to this one wasn’t at all, but it was very realistic which I appreciated a lot. Not everyone gets a happy ending, because everyone faces different problems each day and have to pay the price for it.

Movie Structure (Stage 2)

Stage 1:

set up: Lilia is 17 attends sea view high school in secondary 5 very smart in school favourite subject:chemistry and calculus loved by everyone,Joseph abusive father, alcoholic and inpatient, Boyfriend: Fabio druggie,not in school,does illegal stuff,hates Lilia’s father.

Stage 2:

turning point 1: Lilia’s father wants her to do good in school as soon as she and her boyfriend hook up Lilia is very badly influenced.

stage 3:

major event 1: Lilia has five months before graduation and gets her diploma to get accepted into the best college for medical schooling meets Fabio at gas station falls in love and is easily influenced to drop out of school take drugs and be with him.

turning point 2:Father finds out and is upset because Lilia is very smart and he doesn’t want her to screw up, finds out she is with Fabio and abusing drugs abusively hits her and makes her miserable.

Stage 4:

Major event 2: Joseph can no longer handle Lilia’s behaviour and kicks her out to go live with her boyfriend. Therefore Lilia has no money and needs a job.

Turning point 3: Lilia is walking sees a poster of a girl dancing take down the address and goes and see the place. She meets the owner and is promised to be paid 700$ a week if she could strip for that bar. Her stripper name is now Candy

Stage 5:

Major event 3:Lilia gets the job and is now a stripper a alcoholic and a druggie.

turning point 4: 4 Months later Lila has not yet seen her dad. Breaking news her father was found dead caused to alcohol overdose. Lilia also finds boyfriend cheating and therefore dumps him and goes back to normal.

stage 6:

Major event 4: Lilia is now in a rehabilitation centre for 7 months to cure herself and to make herself back to normal just like her father liked.

Turning Point 5: 7 months later after Lilia has cured herself in a rehabilitation centre she is now living life fine with her 2 new jobs at the gas station where she first met her true love Fabio and her favourite clothing store v&s and is now living alone with her new best friend Amy.

* Jared, a grade 9 student gets suspended from school because a picture of him drinking at a party was posted anonymously on the internet. Jared objects to this because there is no proof that he was drinking alcohol because it is impossible to even read the label. The picture was also tagged with his full name and it comes up everytime a google research is done. His friend ended up telling him that he was the one who posted the picture, and he removed it. Although, everytime an image research is done on his name, the picture is still there.

* The issues raised here are pretty serious because having people taking pictures of you without you knowing is not good. Having them post it on the internet is even worse. The most serious issue is that when you apply for a job people can research your name and they will then see that picture, and change their mind on hireing you, and you didn’t even know that picture was on the internet in the first place.

* This case study seems relevant to my life because i do have a facebook account and when you research my name on google, you see my profile image.

* I think the issues raised here are really serious because when you sign up for things on internet, you don’t really know if the information stays privet or where exacly it goes. The most serious issue is that not everything you think is privet actually is. People should always be carefull about the info they give out to sites.

* This case study doesn’t seem really relevant to my own life because i do not shop online because its very dangerous, and when i do sign up for sites, i don’t usually put my real information in.

* In my opinion, these issues are very serious. Having your privacy violated and taken away, having your pictures used for other purposes than just viewing them, and having random people useing their technologies to video tape you or take a picture of you, without you knowing is really disturbing. I believe the most serious problem is technology itself. These days people can do anything with it. I really wouldn’t want my ppicture being taken by a complete stranger, because then who  knows what it will end up being used as… Some people actually steal people’s pictures and use them saying its them. I really dont think its right.

* This study case is pretty relevant to my own life because i do live in a society filled with cameras and technology. Security cameras only really have one bad effect to it because we loose our privacy but at the same time they are a good thing because they prevent crimes and are proof for crimes.

I really enjoy taking pictures, photography is one of my passions, mostly of landscapes, nature and scenery. Another one of my intrests is fashion i love the modeling indusrtry, hopefully one day ill be able to get  involved with it.

One thing i love is being around my family and frineds, im lucky that i have such great people in my life. Music is something i cain’t go without , i need to have it at all times. I find that sometimes what we listen to actually could express abit of who we are.
